Three women open inspired DIY space in Batavia

Golden Hour Social is a new workshop and event space in Batavia. It’s also a place to meet new friends, bond with old ones, laugh, laugh-cry, learn a new skill, and celebrate. All while feeling comfortable among amazing women in a gorgeous space. It’s the collaborative effort of Brea Hayes, Joanna Goss, and Brandy Thomas. The three women are bringing their collective, creative energies to the Fox Valley to teach DIY workshops and host one-of-a-kind events.

The event and workshop space is located above Fawn Gifts at 2 E. Wilson St. in Batavia. The riverside location is perfect for bridal and baby showers, small gatherings, and more. Hayes, owner of Fawn Gifts, said she hopes Golden Hour Social provides a space that nurtures skill-sharing, community-building and friendship-making.

Golden Hour Social hosts its launch party on Friday, June 9. It will be an evening of laughter and friendship with Guest DJ “Gentleman” Jims, Gifyyy Photo BoothKimmer’s Ice Cream and crafts.

The party is also part of the first Second Fridays in downtown Batavia.

Batavia’s Second Fridays are a night full of food, art, music, fun and more. Second Fridays are an interactive and vibrant experience around downtown Batavia working to complement the monthly art gallery opening at Water Street Studios. Second Fridays are independent, but work collaborately with First Fridays in downtown Aurora to boost the arts and culture scene in the Fox Valley area.
