You won’t want to miss these Summer Festival headliners this weekend in Aurora

This weekend, Two Brothers is throwing a party that you don’t want to miss. Live music, great beer, and good causes are front and center. You’re invited to celebrate summer in Aurora.

Dawes

Who: Dawes

When: Friday night at Two Brothers Summer Festival

Why you should see them: Aside from their lovable presence and great hair, this cool, American folk-rock group is a winner due to incredible songwriting and solid, oh-so-sweet melodies. Their single “Things Happen” off of All Your Favorite Bands is being jammed out on 93.1 XRT frequently. “Things Happen” is a nice taste of their straight-to-the-heart lyrics. Frontman Taylor Goldsmith writes beautiful songs and recently joined in on the taping of the New Basement Tapes. Seeing Dawes live will undoubtedly have you mesmerized and jamming out to some nice guitar.

Street cred: Dawes performed live on one of the last David Letterman shows. Letterman said, “If you’re looking for a rock and roll band, this is pretty much all you need.”

Jason Isbell

Who: Jason Isbell

When: Saturday night at Two Brothers Summer Festival

Why you shouldn’t miss him: Jason Isbell is a singer-songwriter, yes. But he is so much more. Isbell’s voice and thoughtful lyrics stand alone so well that his 2013 solo album Southeastern likely had Drive-by Truckers fans not looking back. Isbell has opened for Willie Nelson and he performed a Warren Zevon tribute on the Late Show with David Letterman. His crossover country, rock, folk and indie sound appeals to anyone who appreciates good music.

Street cred: Isbell was interviewed on Marc Maron’s popular WTF podcast and got real in a no nonsense way. He’s a likable guy.

Two Brothers Summer Festival is June 26 to 28. It’s wise to purchase tickets in advance. More info here
